Watershed Hydraulic and Hydrologic Modeling | EPA Phase II Storm Water Regulations

Aberdeen Development Project - Cuyahoga County, Ohio
Client: Forest City Land Group
Euthenics completed drainage and storm water management studies to analyze the major streams through a 600-unit golf course community. The studies resulted in multiple Letters of Map Revision from FEMA revising the 100-year flood plain limits. Four interconnected retention/detention basins with a surface area of over 22 acres were constructed as part of the project to control flooding and provide irrigation for the golf course. Euthenics also developed the detail design plans and specifications for the basins. The retention basins were designed to be used for wetland mitigation.

Liberty Road Culvert - Cuyahoga County, Ohio
Client: Cuyahoga County, Ohio
Euthenics completed design plans for a 132-inch culvert and stream relocation as part of the Solon Road Bridge Replacement Project in the Village of Bentleyville. A flood hazard study was also completed for the project to determine the size of the replacement bridge waterway opening for the Solon Road Bridge over the Aurora Branch of the Chagrin River. The study also identified channel improvements needed to prevent flooding of upstream properties.
Citywide Sanitary/Storm Sewer Study - Cuyahoga County
Client: City of Brook Park, Ohio
For years, the city of Brook Park experienced major flooding problems. Over 1,000 homes experienced flooding, even during minor rains. Euthenics performed a study to determine the cause of the sewer system back-up. Recommendations to alleviate the problems included the construction of relief sewers, pumping stations, underground retention tanks and rehabilitation. The result has been complete elimination of basement flooding and sewage back-up.
Lake Kenisee Dam - Ashtabula County, Ohio
Client: Ohio Department of Natural Resources
Lake Kenisee Dam in Ashtabula County regulates flow from an 18 acre lake. The dam is classified as Class II. Euthenics inspected the dam, completed the hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, submitted a Design Report with recommendations to ODNR and prepared final plans for rehabilitation of the dam. The rehabilitation plans included details for replacing the existing spillway, regarding the top of the dam, and constructing a new emergency spillway.
